Sunnyland was recognized this year as a Texas Treasure by the Texas Historical Commission. The Texas Treasure Business Award Program recognizes the accomplishments of Texas businesses that have provided employment opportunities and support to the state’s economy for at least 50 years.
Sunnyland held its first Big Green Egg EggFest event with celebrity chef Grady Spears. Nearly 500 people attended and help to raise over $1000 for the Legacy Boxer Rescue. The company has pursued influencer marketing through a partnership with a popular local media personality, Amy Vanderoef.
Brad Schweig was named a member of the 40 under 40 group by HFN Magazine, an honor exemplifying leadership, creativity and enthusiasm across retail and manufacturing in the home furnishings arena.
Sunnyland’s Helping Hands committee continued to work with its various partners this year helping to raise money for great causes including a barbeque cookoff, and an Independent Retailer Month fundraising promotion with the newest partner, Dwell with Dignity.
